I came across a customer today whose Gmail app on an Android phone was stuck at :
“Getting your Messages”
We tried restarting the phone, killing and restarting the app and also turning sync on and off, but no luck. Every time it just got stuck on “Getting your messages”.
The solution was as follows:
- Go into settings
- Select Apps
- Find the Gmail App
- Select “Storage”
- Clear Data and Clear Cache
Restart the app and you should be back up and running!
Already did the steps and Gmail still stuck. Hasn’t worked in 6 months.
NOPE! Did not work with the above mentioned items. I even uninstalled, power cycled, installed and realigned all of my accounts. I even cleared all of the app cache from every google app
