Following the UK mobile network outage on Vodafone this morning, Vodafone has now announced via their support forums that the problems are due to a break-in overnight at one of their technical facilities:

A map of the tweets across the UK discussing Vodafone this morning shows that a majority of the problems appear to be affecting the South of the country.
Vodafone has said that there is no impact on the privacy of user data and that they’re working quickly to restore services. Following the tweets – signs of network recovery are starting to appear.
