Ever had all your desktop icons, and settings suddenly disappear whe logging into Vista. You’ll find if you reboot – the same thing happens when you try and log on.
You may think that you’ve lost all the settings – but just try logging out and then back in again (without rebooting) and hopefully you’ll find everything is back to normal!

Yes but is there a way to fix this glitch? perminately? Is there settings to change?
Sorry – haven’t found a fix for this yet. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this happen on Service Pack 1 so that won’t help.
How often does this happen to you – as I’ve only seen this happen very infrequently?

Thanks for the link! Unfortunately I don’t think this covers the problem we’ve been seeing as we’re not using ASUS machines – Dell here.
Also – I think the problem is more than just the desktop icons, it’s more like the user profile isn’t getting loaded as other settings are lost?
