As rumoured for a while, Google is venturing into the TV market. They plan on embedding their Android platform into TVs and also providing set-top boxes.
The intention is to merge together the online web experience with regular TV viewing.
Announced at Google IO, they plan to release the product to market this Autumn.

Vic Gundotra (VP Engineering) snubbed Apple several times during the Google IO keynote by highlighting the integration work Google are doing with Adobe to bring Flash to the Android platform.

I believef that Google TV has a lot of potential, but also has the potential to fall. I’m hoping that everything turns out alright though. From what I’ve seen, Google TV is the kind of thing I would definitely have.
