Windows Live Mail Error 0x800C013E

Are you getting error “0x800C013E” when sending/receiving email in Windows Live Mail?

Perhaps emails just aren’t displaying properly with the error : “Windows live mail encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this message”?

I’ve been seeing problems with customers still using Windows Live Mail for years, and only recently discovered the following registry fix:

Under the following Key:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail

Create 3 DWORD entries

RecreateFolderIndex = 1
RecreateStreamIndex = 1
RecreateUIDLIndex = 1

Restart Windows Live Mail and it should be back to normal !
